Far East, Primorye | Maya river (Khabarovsk region)

Maya is a challenging river for rafting. There are a lot of riffles and powerful flows with stagnant waters in the upper reaches, waterfalls in gorges. There are deep side valleys where snow lasts till mid-summer. The Maya is not like the Uda where chum salmon shoals come to spawn. Maya is a difficult of access and a faraway river .300km rafting route is free of human traces except for several hunting huts on the lower river. Wild animals here are bear, deer and elk.
